Review: Aeroline vs. Transtar

Indeed, the most convenient way to fly to Singapore. Let's do the math:

By Plane, time taken from...
City-KLIA: 45mins
KLIA check-in: 2hrs
KL-SIN: 1hr
SIN immigration: 30mins
SIN-Orchard Road: 15mins
Total time: 4hrs 30mins
Damage to wallet: RM500+ (return)

By Bus, time taken from...
City-BusStop: 15mins
KL-SIN: 5hsr (incl. immigration clearance)
SIN-Orchard Road: 15mins
Total time: 5hrs 30mins
Damage to wallet: RM160 ONLY (return)Aeroline is a company which is relatively new in the KL-SIN transportation market... sleek exterior and plush interior. The upper deck comfortably seats 20 passengers, but if you are claustrophobic (or a person who likes his own private space like me :p), you can choose to seat at the "lounge" downstairs - which hosts an entertainment system, coffee pantry and plug points for your laptops.. not forgetting those comfy sofas which I quickly sank onto throughout the entire journey. The breakfast set was 'OK' but I think they cud do much better, a RM1 nasi lemak was definitely much better!
As for my journey back, took Transtar Executive. Seats were much wider and had the extendable leg rest as well... comparable to business class seats on your typical Malaysian "we-are-so-profitable" Airline Boeings. Plus, it had the massaging function.. not OSIM functions mind you, but just the typical.. 5 way vibrate mode! Good when you're really exhausted from beating the mad Christmas rush along Orchard road, and when you're ultra horny. Well, worked for me... haha. Plus it had an entertainment central, something you can only find on long-haul flights... so Transtar has earned another brownie point! And food was simple, but good - nasi goreng or bihun goreng. Tambah telur summore! Dun play play..
Well, the conclusion is that there isn't one. Both journeys were great! Was en route Singapore for a "sorta business" trip.. so having that laptop plugged in at the lounge was great! Got tonnes of work done - which left me with precious time to do those last minute Christmas shopping.

And after that long morning in the "boardroom"... checked out of the hotel and was left homeless. To strut along Orchard St. for 7hrs wasn't particularly effortless. Massaging chair did help heaps.. and a healthy dose of random Taiwanese candid shows did wonders to ease the jaded mind!

At the end of this post, I'm left with a very "sad" spirit. Definitely know of people reviewing BMWs and Mercs, and HERE I AM.. reviewing buses pulak. Oh well, at least I got to review the biggest Mercedes in the world that easily dar-pau 20+ passengers. Beat that!!

p.s. I'm sure some of my readers know the objective of destination Singapore :) Thanx to all who have been very supportive!
