Zoom ZoOM ZOOM...

After reading this latest article... hope was somehow deemed existent once again. Can't agree anymore that it's one of Mazda's best move, but honestly, what took them so long to pull a stunt like that?! Looks like the Mazda 3 will be arriving on Malaysian shores sooner than how the Mazda 5 took Malaysians with surprise! So, the goal is to eventually own a sleek black/grey one in 3 years time... and that is really assuming that the price ain't RM138-freakin-thousand ... like the one you see on Naza's pricetag on the imported Mazda Axela (which is ultimately a Mazda-3 for rice-boys). And now, you can say goodbye to our faithful Honda-"Fuckthat30centsincrease"-City or that Britney-wannabe-Vios (no pun intended ppl) ... and helloooo... baby RX-8! Or should we say, a more affordable alternative. Just look at the meter clusters and pretend that its one laaa!
Woohooo! I can't wait! Btw, debut will be at the KLIMS 2006 Motorshow.

TheTapasTree @ Clarke Quay

Finally.. found a La Bodega but minus the smoke and add in some comfy couches, mosaic tiles as well as a live Los Chicos Spanish band doin their thang. Tapas were way better as well! The long walk from Raffles Place was somewhat worth it... and since it was Cuiping's bonus payday.. muahaha... need I say more? Conversations with her was still as spastic as ever...

Vroommm...

It feels too good to be able to drive again!!!

Paddington Pancakes @ The Curve

Imagine... everything dish you order have pancakes in them! Had so much resistance in walking into the shop but surprisingly, it turned out pretty interesting. Wasn't being too adventurous, being a first-timer, I ordered the Full Monty breakfast set!And here's a variation of another breakfast dish...

Got some catchin' up to do!

Met up with Shereen over the weekend at the Curve! Treated myself to a pair of new specs, and Shereen tried on half the specs that were on display at ALook! And headed for a long session of Alfresco dining at Thai Express along the Street... it's been quite a while that I breathed in KL's superbly fresh air...

PhoChine @ Orchard

Thought that it may be time to revive the flat tastebuds from the 5 days a week Kaya-Toast affair at the local coffee place on my way to work... and PhoChine looked like a pretty convenient alternative! Smacked right along the Orchard Road... great place to spot and be spotted. If you agree with me, you are equally as sad as me~

Raiding the Esplanade...

Haven't really been blogging for weeks now cos' life was exactly filled with sparks. Wake up > Work > Gym (very optional) > Dinner > TV > Sleep. DOUH!!! But TGIF! And breaking away from the usual routine is somehow way easier in Singapore, so CP and I decided to drop by the island's weird ass durian-like Esplanade. Was kinda broke this month, so didn't get a chance to catch the Mosaic Music Festival but at least I got a chance to be a foot away from Fiona Xie!!! Yes, that OSIM ambassador for UZap :p Woot!~~ Just me being artsy-fartsy...
The view of the Singapore skyline right outside the Esplanade. Credits to EJ for the photoshot! *Waving to my colleagues who're rushing for their reports* Muahaha.
And here's the park before the entrance to the Esplanade. An exhibition by some Malaysian artist...

Mosaic Music Festival

Complementing the Mosaic Music Festival are some fibre-optic stick men fondling their musical instruments. Overly creative but getting a nice shot of those thingies were a pain in the backside! "PESKY KIDS! Mooove!!"Here's the pic when some kid charged towards me...
Here's another one with their parents was strangling me...
Obviously I was just being lame...

The Garlic Restaurant @ EsplanadeMall

I thought this restaurant looked rather interesting.Cream of Brocolli with Garlic Bread. Honestly, not the best tasting soup (and vegetable) in the world. Grilled Chicken with Garlic Rice...
Chicken Sausages stuffed with Garlic Cheese...
Food was OK. Service was way better..

Darren: Can you check on our order? We've been waiting for 30mins.
Waiter: Sorry, the kitchen is short-staffed. Could you wait a lil' while longer?
Darren: Don't you think that the waiting time is rather ridiculous?!
Waiter: Sir, I know 30mins is a long time, but other customers have been waiting for an hour!
Darren: ........ *reaching for the knife*

New Asia Bar @ Swissotel Raffles

The place to be for an after-work destress session. Muahaha! My eardrums kinda gave way when I reached the top...Crowds were mostly working class, expats ... and tourists who have the impression that Satay is always cheapest in a 5-star hotel!!
Stairways down to the Equinox Fine Dining restaurant...
Drinks were relatively cheap! Half price during Happy Hours... 5pm-9pm if I remember correctly! Here's the After Eight cocktail and my Pussyfoot! :) I see... the National Library and the Raffles Padang...
Then there's Bugis further up north...

And the Esplanade near the bay...

EJ's in Town!

This super-musically inclined fren of mine came down to Singapore - just to watch the performance at the Mosaic Music Fest, the one which I couldn't afford to watch :pMet up with him and the rest of the gang for dimsum @ Crystal Jade. Next to us were some senior citizens enjoying their Sunday mornin' brunch. On our table, we were, unfortunately, discussing about Singapore's latest video which has been making headlines. Debate of the day: Would you film yourself?!
Clearly we are pretty sexually deprived beings...

Revolving Bar @ Meritus Mandarin

Had drinks with Cuiping and Zhimin after a high dose of Chinese herbs. Bar's located on the 33rd floor of Meritus Mandarin Hotel. The ambience was honestly nothing to shout about. The place felt as though it got warped back into the 80's and the crowd was non-existent on a Saturday Night. So I suppose that does say alot :p
But nevertheless. you get a bird's eye view of the entire Orchard Road from the bar...

Soup Restaurant @ Paragon

This I highly recommend...Clearly they've got the whole Zen thing going on. The very Once Upon a Time in China feel to it.
Rice with Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Yada Yada Chinese Herbs which I don't quite recall... supposed to increase blood circulation la, reduce blood pressure la, make ur boobs bigger la, whatever man. Just as long as you don't give me any bitter stuff! Steamed Minced Pork minus the MSGs...
Stir-fried Kailan with Tong Kwai...
Could feel a slight nose bleed after the overly wholesome meal~~
