"Sir, Christmas cakes for you? It's ONLY one week old"

Review: Aeroline vs. Transtar

Indeed, the most convenient way to fly to Singapore. Let's do the math:

By Plane, time taken from...
City-KLIA: 45mins
KLIA check-in: 2hrs
KL-SIN: 1hr
SIN immigration: 30mins
SIN-Orchard Road: 15mins
Total time: 4hrs 30mins
Damage to wallet: RM500+ (return)

By Bus, time taken from...
City-BusStop: 15mins
KL-SIN: 5hsr (incl. immigration clearance)
SIN-Orchard Road: 15mins
Total time: 5hrs 30mins
Damage to wallet: RM160 ONLY (return)Aeroline is a company which is relatively new in the KL-SIN transportation market... sleek exterior and plush interior. The upper deck comfortably seats 20 passengers, but if you are claustrophobic (or a person who likes his own private space like me :p), you can choose to seat at the "lounge" downstairs - which hosts an entertainment system, coffee pantry and plug points for your laptops.. not forgetting those comfy sofas which I quickly sank onto throughout the entire journey. The breakfast set was 'OK' but I think they cud do much better, a RM1 nasi lemak was definitely much better!
As for my journey back, took Transtar Executive. Seats were much wider and had the extendable leg rest as well... comparable to business class seats on your typical Malaysian "we-are-so-profitable" Airline Boeings. Plus, it had the massaging function.. not OSIM functions mind you, but just the typical.. 5 way vibrate mode! Good when you're really exhausted from beating the mad Christmas rush along Orchard road, and when you're ultra horny. Well, worked for me... haha. Plus it had an entertainment central, something you can only find on long-haul flights... so Transtar has earned another brownie point! And food was simple, but good - nasi goreng or bihun goreng. Tambah telur summore! Dun play play..
Well, the conclusion is that there isn't one. Both journeys were great! Was en route Singapore for a "sorta business" trip.. so having that laptop plugged in at the lounge was great! Got tonnes of work done - which left me with precious time to do those last minute Christmas shopping.

And after that long morning in the "boardroom"... checked out of the hotel and was left homeless. To strut along Orchard St. for 7hrs wasn't particularly effortless. Massaging chair did help heaps.. and a healthy dose of random Taiwanese candid shows did wonders to ease the jaded mind!

At the end of this post, I'm left with a very "sad" spirit. Definitely know of people reviewing BMWs and Mercs, and HERE I AM.. reviewing buses pulak. Oh well, at least I got to review the biggest Mercedes in the world that easily dar-pau 20+ passengers. Beat that!!

p.s. I'm sure some of my readers know the objective of destination Singapore :) Thanx to all who have been very supportive!

Coffee Club Dinner

The crazy conversations never fail to die down with Cuiping. Sick, retarded and occasionally inspiring~~ Calamari Rings and Ice Cappucino was good... presentation was even better!
Spanish Seafood Pilaf ... similar to Paella but not mixed (SGD14.90)Garlic Prawn Linguine.. with loads of garlic! (SGD12.90)
Thanks CP for dinner... AND for the HugoBoss cologne!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Baby!

Suddenly, I found myself having an erection along Orchard Road...Just SHUDDUP!

Orchard Road Christmas Bash!

Orchard Rd. Christmas Celebrations. The reason why the entire stretch was closed to vehicles since the afternoon. The reason why I HAD to drag my darn luggage from one end of Orchard Rd to my hotel room. Had dinner with Hwei and Jess at Marche. Thanks Hwei for dinner. Next one is on me! Dun Fight! Plenty of these parade machines on display, whatever you call it la! ~~
More, more, more....
And finally, the view from the hotel poolside! Bliss all over~

Seoul Bulgogi Korean BBQ Restaurant

Why pay to cook for yourself? Overcook it and it'll taste rubbery. Undercook it and you're in pangsai paradise. But man, that taste so good! And fark, I think I had consumed a week's worth of protein! Thanx Shereen for dinner!
The view of Menara Telekom next to the restaurant~~

Annual Dinner & Dance

The theme for the annual dinner which was somehow very inappropriate (yes, it's two months pass Haloweens) but somehow they managed to pull the show together ...
and made it somewhat entertaining by having our own company's IDOL. As you can clearly see how the entire department was waving their arms like there's no tomorrow, cheering for Zen.. the gusty colleague of mine who pulled off a "Hey Big Spender" performance on stage.
Me, MeeLin & MingChong...all still pretty sober
Me & Andrea (who was looking way dashing on that night). Even the partners notice how she puts so much attention into matching her officewear with her handbags... whoever said vanity was a bad thing rite?!Nadia, MeeLin, Izan & YinChing ...

Double Take Concert @ Stadium Negara

It was because of Michelle that I jumped into the jazz craze bandwagon. And Double Take's performance at Alexis was simply amazing that it left me drooling back for more. Of course, even the cheapest ticket was smacked with a RM100 pricetag. That aside, offerings to the church on Sunday mornings were more important (not that its a some sorta forced obligation but more of a responsibility). ~Fhuiyoh, I'm Holy Baybee~. Nevertheless, I dropped pretty big hints to the BigGuy up there that I wanted to watch DT's performance, but damn, guess it has to be another time! And yes ppl, there's a fine line between praying and complaining. I did a 60:40 on Him...sorry ar! ;) Guess again, it was Michelle's answers that snagged me free passes to the concert, courtesy of Alldatjazz.com's Double Take competition. I hate to say this but she might be GodSent literally! Michelle, if you're reading this, don't get that head of urs too swelled up! :p Man, the performance was awesome! Mariah HugeJugs Carey has a new challenger. Ding Ding!!! Once again, Mia Palencia & Roger Wang were stunning, handsdown without a doubt!
Plus, it was pretty nice of Mia to upgrade our seats. Although Cheryl & I had to do some rail climbing exercise, it was well worth it. The 2nd tier seats were straining my neck! Gah. And credits do go out to Brian & Eugene as well (self-explainatory)!
And it was relli nice of Brian to ask ..."Who's da chun chick behind you?!" without even greeting me over the phone first :p *Ur dirty lil secret exposed*

The Old Siam @ Tengkat Tong Shin

The place boasts a very colonnial setting, sitting under the roof of yet another row of heritage shoplots.
Great fittings all round, however, the bathroom on the top floor was somewhat .. not levelled. Yes, the building is that old! Nevertheless, I aimed purfectly.. and it's a skill most Asians have yet to master!
Back to food... Fried Pad Thai with Gravy [RM12.90] .. In essence, Cantonese Kuey Teow with a Thai touch! Stir Fried Pad Thai with Basil Leaves [Rm12.90]
Plus, 15% off for HSBC cardholders on top of stated prices. My verdict: Posh shop, Good food, Affordable prices ~ which then makes KFC and Nando's a real big piece of conjob.

Launch of the new Mercedes S-Class

I've been lusting over this baby since I saw the spyshots over some random magazine - now that I attended the launch, I am now lusting lustfully over its silhouette. It was somewhat refreshing to be greeted warmly by Mercedes personnel at the doorstep, before being walked towards the S-Class - even though I casually dressed in a shirt, short pants and my fav bright green pair of Adidas. Strongly believing in the word 'paiseh', I admitted that I was only previewing the car... DUH! And as I continued oogling my soon-to-be lustful wife, the salesperson explained to me every single detail of the car... dead crisp description. So did not see that coming but you've gotta admire that ATTITUDE!
The door was even pulled open for me, with the other hand inviting me into the car. Clearly, buying the "World's Biggest Business Card" does come with outstanding service, even during pre-sale. "Go ahead sir, experience the on-board computer system for yourself" And I did, meddling with that 'mouse' near the driver's armrest. Cheryl & I then agreed that CIMB will see a few of these parked outside the porch in a matter of weeks time!
So, what's the fuss all about?! Yeah, you got served at a Mercedes showroom... big deal! Well, my point is to extend out a big sincere "FARK YOU" to those salespersons who blissfully ignored my presence, when I genuinely wanted to purchase a car which was """10x"""" cheaper than this S-Class. Yes, I'm talking about cars with a big 'H' on its badge. AND listen up.. when I ask for a brochure, I am NOT expecting a 1 page brochure, and I DON'T need to you to tell me the price of the cheapest model. How bout starting by handing me a 20page fully coloured brochure like what Merc did!
And what's with the prosperous figures?!?!

Note to self: To revisit showroom in 20-30 years time. Might just stick to the 1:24 Diecast model for now...

Sina Bar @ Bangsar

The buzzing lights and sounds of Telawi. Man, haven't been here in ages! No money, economy bad, takda bonus ... and there's nothing I can do about it. The last time I stepped foot here was probably when Han wanted many many visual snapshots of the ciggie girls struting around. Brandname sells, "skin" sells even more... Having House music pondered upon my earlopes is one thing, having comfy couches with violet lighting all over was another. Wud have fallen asleep if it wasn't for the typical spasticated conversations we have. WeiWen... din say "hi" huh?! :p

Meiyin & ChangHaur. Who wud have guessed that they went to the same college, uni, and now... in the same company! Haha. People, lunch at KLCC next Friday k! Ryan, I need a lift! ;) Freaky to know that u're just 5mins away from where i am! Haha... happy going bumper-to-bumper everyday :p Boy, misery sure loves company! Pear + Ginger yada-yada pudding with ice-cream. Good shit I must say! Although I could barely see what I was eating.

Swedish Invasion...

The only reason God created this plot of land named Sweden was because they created:
  1. the infamous penis enlarger pump you previewed on Austin Powers - not that I need it of course ;)
  2. succulent meatballs which probably was derived from blended cow udders, turkey tits, lamb testicles and everything under the 'meat' category.. but im lovin it ~

And when did IKEA hire not-so-straight interior designers?! Who is gonna pay RM99 to be hypnotized into engaging in same-sex sex?! Uh huh! I see alota hands there! Ok.. you can put them down now! What more can one say to themselves when lookin in the freaking mirror?
"Uh huh, you, yes... i'm talking to you, you sexay thing. Damn, this jackets is like, sooo last season! But who cares, le coq manifique!"
On a totally different topic! Got myself a plant, suppose to invite "chi" into the room (like I don't have enough of it already).. the oxygen it produces... simply energising! Breathe in..breathe out!
Guys, it's fake... And stop being so disgusted as though you just saw me in some skimpy tights doing yoga with that bladdy pot of plant. Well, RM22 for this but at least it will be alive for a pretty long time. You don't say! ~

Darren: HAHAHA.. shit, u think financial modelling isit!
Eugene: Hahaha
Darren: Can't la boss.. Too much pressure on cash flow, got high credit risk now alredy
Eugene: Go invest in some high risk/return/yield shares and bonds and you'll quantum leap the cash flow
Darren: Tak ada capital.. You wanna be my Venture Capitalist?
Eugene: Go get yr parents to be yr VC..

Gahh! Wat on earth?! Anyways, it was great havin Eugene around! Thanx for lunch @ Madam Kwan's!

House + Co. Cafe

A cafe located on the top level of Bangsar Shopping Centre, hidden amongst the funky "see-but-can't-afford" furnitures of House+Co. Common, RM49.90 for a stalk of fake rose is.. umm... what they define as a conjob.
Maybe 20 years down the road, when I finally own that villa sitting on a Mont Kiara address, and my spasticated 'newly appointed Datin' wife decides to go a distance with my supplementary card. Actually, I really like the furnitures...
And finally, something which I could afford:D Kuey Teow Soup (RM15).
Curry Laksa (also RM15), wasn't great at all... let's just say that I am a sucker for good ambience.

BonTon @ Jln Ceylon

Another bungalow turned gourmet restaurant. Malaysia's gonna be the next centre of epicure at the rate that these restaurants are poppin up...Even the damn door and grills were from two centuries ago~
Think there's a gallery upstairs, unfortunately it's closed...
Nyonya Curry Laksa with Top Hats (RM19++). Suffered from severe santan overdose! Thank God for those recessive 'lactose intolerant' genes - which would otherwise lead to a serious case of berak-ing.
Three Mushrooms Chicken Pie(RM24++) . Umm, you gotta try it for yourselves. Taste is somehow too distinctive to be mentioned literally. Hmmm...
Woot! It's gonna be my first Christmas in Msia in 6 years! You have no idea how it feels, doin it Asian style! Am alredy counting down the days...
